Is it a Classical Guitar or an Acoustic Guitar?

Simply put an Acoustic Guitar fitted with steel strings is built to resist the enormous tension they exhibit on the instrument.
A Classical Guitar utilises strings made from nylon with 3 being plain and 3 wound with a thin alloy covering.
The Classical Guitar is considered the more rewarding for a beginner and kinder to the fingers.

My ultimate aim when assisting a student to learn Classical guitar is to become redundant.
I measure my quality by student progress. If a student fails to acheive when following my directions its not them at fault. Its for me to review my teaching, focus on the issue and guide the student through.
Providing the student has the will to play they will progress.
There is an old saying about teaching guitar:
'Measure your teacher by your progress not by their playing'.
